It was an honour to talk to broadcaster, journalist and author Jillian Godsil about everything publishing, literature and books related. I was a guest on Jillian’s show ‘Making a Difference’, broadcast on Dublin City FM every Monday.
We discussed, among other timely topics, books, editing, literature, and re-discovering the creative impulse during lockdown. In brief:
* Our constructive and positive approach to editing and appraising manuscripts at JM Editing & Literary Agency; how my job as an editor is to help writers write the best books they possibly can.
*Some common mistakes made by new authors of both fiction and non-fiction.
* The current publishing landscape, and whether self-publishing is a viable option.
*The strange case of ‘crowdfunding publishers’. What are they precisely and should authors take note?
*Lockdown and creativity.
The interview was broadcast on the 7th of December last, but feel free to listen to it through the below link.
I will also be doing a Q & A video in the coming weeks, giving writers and authors an opportunity to pose questions to me related to the topics Jillian and I discussed. The format is inclusive and open; feel free to ask me any question related to editing your manuscript, publishing options, the marketing and promotion of books and more.
If you have a question you would like me to answer, please feel free to email your questions to jm.murphy@outlook.ie.

I hope you enjoy it.
