Irish actor Pat Nolan may be famous for playing loveable nice guy Barry O’Hanlon in RTÉ’s Fair City, but this month he was busy launching the latest Irish crime saga, Silent Tears of Sin, penned by debut novelist Sharon Stevens. With Ireland becoming world-renowned for dramas set in society’s seedy underbelly – thanks to hit TV shows like Love/Hate and Kin, and acclaimed authors like Liz Nugent and Anthony J. Quinn – anticipation is high for Stevens’ action-packed offering, which plunges readers into the grisly world of the Miller family.

The drama kicks off when Mason Miller comes to pick up his estranged mother, Ruth, from a Wicklow train station on a hot August afternoon. Little does Mason know that the door to his family’s darkest secrets is about to blow wide open.

Then one day, Mason is shot on his own doorstep.

What is the Miller family involved in? And who are Joe and Sally – the mysterious, unsettling couple that keep cropping up behind the scenes at all major turns of his life?

All the JM Agency team are delighted that Sharon availed of our book publishing package, the comprehensive book publishing package which includes editing, design, and publishing services, and is tailored for self-publishing authors so they can benefit from working with a team of publishing professionals.

The glitzy book launch, which took place in the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney, earlier this month, was also an opportunity for readers to discover more about the multi-talented author of Silent Tears of Sin. In addition to being a crime writer, Sharon Stevens is a qualified veterinary assistant and Emergency Medical Technician, with further qualifications in Adult Psychology and Criminal and Forensic Psychology – knowledge she no doubt drew from when writing her dark, twisty tale of betrayal.

Despite her many interests, writing has always had a special place in Stevens’ heart, observing that, ‘Writing is a powerful mindset. If I do not like the chapter I have written, I can erase it and start again. That is the great thing about fiction.’

Since its publication, praise for Silent Tears of Sin has been forthcoming, with Pat Nolan remarking at the launch that the book is a ‘page-turner’.

Silent Tears of Sin is available across the internet, including on Amazon.
